Alpenglow
Plan your trip and distribute the load evenly
Route, food plan, gear, participants, and resupply points — all in one app. No spreadsheets. No manual recalculations.
Weight
Balanced packs keep the whole group moving at the same pace.
Alpenglow distributes food, shared gear, fuel, and medical supplies between backpacks so that each person carries a load proportional to their individual capacity.
As food and fuel are used along the way, the load decreases evenly across the group.
Resupply points and possible participant dropouts can be accounted for in advance.
Route
Your track and campsites on one map.
Upload a GPX or KML track, and Alpenglow will display the route and elevation profile. You can mark overnight stops directly along the uploaded track.

Food plan
No manual calculations.
Build a food plan from scratch, upload your own spreadsheet, or generate a draft based on your target calorie intake and food preferences.
Alpenglow calculates the total weight and calorie count for you.
Once the food plan is ready, it can also generate a complete shopping list.
Gear, medical kit, and fuel
Everything the group carries is included.
Shared gear, the medical kit, repair kit, and fuel are all part of the total load calculation.
The medical kit can be assigned to the group medic and the repair kit to the person responsible for repairs. Their weight is taken into account when the rest of the load is distributed.

Participants
One shared space for the whole group.
Invite participants with a link and assign responsibilities.
The person in charge of food can manage the food plan, the gear manager can prepare the equipment list, and the medic can manage the medical kit. The trip leader can keep track of the entire preparation process.
On the trail
Resupply and participant dropouts.
Alpenglow works offline in Route Mode.
The app knows what is already packed in each backpack and can generate a ready-to-use redistribution list when you pick up a resupply cache or when someone has to leave the route.
About me
Hi! I’m building Alpenglow.
I love hiking, but planning a challenging trip can sometimes feel just as challenging — endless spreadsheets honestly drive me crazy)))
Basically, I don’t think the mountains should start with Excel.
For me, hiking is about the experience, discovering new places, and testing yourself. I want the planning to be just as exciting — or at least no more tiring than it needs to be.
That’s why I started building Alpenglow.
If you have any thoughts about the project, feel free to email me. I’d be happy to chat!

Early Access
Alpenglow is still in development.
Before the first release, I'd like to hear from people who actually plan and lead trips.
How do you organize your trip preparation? What tools do you use today? And what do you wish they did better?
If you have a minute, share your thoughts and answer three short questions.
I read every response personally.
Thank you.
I read every response personally.
It would help a lot if you told people who might find Alpenglow interesting.
